Dentures are prosthetic removable devices that are constructed to replace single or multiple missing teeth. They are supported by the surrounding soft tissues and teeth and are a cheaper option of replacing teeth. Dentures can be partial denture– replacing few teeth or full denture – replacing all the teeth.

What are Dentures (False Teeth)?

Options For Missing Teeth

Partial Dentures

A plate that replaces the missing teeth in your mouth with false teeth. It may be entirely plastic or metal. The plate may have clasp that clips on your natural teeth to hold the denture in place. They get their support from soft tissues and teeth ensuring they are held in place when you talk, smile or eat. These clasps may be visible in your smile or when you open your mouth. It is possible to have white clasps if you’re concerned about aesthetics.

Full Dentures

A full or complete denture is a removable plate that replaces the entire set of teeth. It is made of acrylic white false teeth and pink colour acrylic that creates a natural look in your mouth. They are accurately fitted over your soft and bony tissues to ensure they are held in place during function. It restores your smile and chewing abilities.

Immediate Dentures

Immediate dentures are partial or full dentures that are processed and made so you are fitted with them the day you remove the tooth to be replaced. Whether it’s your front tooth/teeth or a full mouth of teeth, we can plan the process of dentures so you don’t have to go without having a tooth/teeth even for a day.

Full and Partial Denture Process

Consultation and Discussion regarding your dentures. Examination of teeth and Dental x-rays.
First completing all dental treatment such as fixing cavities or treating gums.
Removal of teeth if needed and giving it adequate time to heal. This can take 6 weeks – 3 months. If dentures are wanted more urgently, immediate dentures can be made. In that case no teeth are removed until denture is ready to be fitted.
Two or three fitting appointments are required to ensure your new denture is accurately fitted on your gums and teeth. In these appointments we ensure you are happy with the Invisalign fit, feel and look of your future teeth. The shade and shape of the teeth can be altered to your liking. We check your bite is comfortable and the denture is retentive.
The denture is processed and fitted in your mouth.
Follow up appointments are scheduled to ensure you are happy with the result.

When do I know I need new dentures?

It may be possible. You should show the dentist to confirm whether it’s possible to be repaired. Pink acrylic dentures can usually be repaired and adjusted.

Is it possible to have denture put I the same day as teeth removal?
